Why The Mantis Shrimp is My New Favourite Animal - The Oatmeal

If you do anything today, please make it checking out this link

It is by an artist called 'The Oatmeal'. It is the most funniest thing i have seen in ages and it just shows how bad ass the mantis shrimp is.
His illustrations are the cutest things. He also has done a comic strip on his Pet dog

The Oatmeal is an amazing artist who should be known by all of you and referenced in your work. I highly suggest you check him out. Good Artists now days are shadowed over tampons covered in glitter, lets let him shine through.

After all this calling Oatmeal 'Him' he is probably a 'Her' haha.

I think I'm inlove

The other day I went to riverisland and found the most beautiful skirt, last one in my size, £12, Bergen.

The best thing about pencil skirts are they look good on everyone, any size, any shape. They cover up all the bits and bobs that you don't like.
I recommend buying one or a couple.
You can't go wrong.
They are great for any situation; casual, safisticated, smart.

Liquid Snake

This is one of my images I drew for the Zeen.

A Liquid Snake.
For every head you cut off, 2 more will grow.

Help Needed.

In my university project I have to create a 'Zeen' (an A3 magazine) on a spot in Hastings. I got the pair and decided to make my zeen about mythical sea creatures and am now stuck on a name.

The reason I am asking is because this zeen is ment to be for the public and not myself therefore your opinion would be perfect.

These are the names I have come up with so far.

Unknown Bliss
Mysterious Blue
Anonymous Blue
Davy Jones's Demons
Below The Tide
Lucifer's Bait
Uncharitable Waters
Poseidon Misfits

To help you with your decisions, my monsters will be drawn in a 'Tattoo' style

It will very helpful

Out of Space

My boyfriend brought me a pair of leggings just under a year ago and they have been life savers.
They are the type of leggings that keep you cool in the summer and lock in all the warmth in the winter. What makes them even better, they are comet print.
They go with quite a lot of my clothing, they don't show off all the unwanted lumps and bumps and they can be warn anywhere.
I would recommend buying a good quality pair of leggings for all year round.

I think in this case you are paying for quality and comfort.

Small Town Findings

In my little small town of Hastings there is a little fox that goes under Hastings Pier and runs out to the sea when the tide it out for reasons unknown. Me and my house mate say that this fox is a myth as only a couple of people have seen this 'mystical creature'. I am proud to say that I have seen this little fella and now I have based my Uni work on him.
i have used my old work and adapted it (only slightly) to attempt to make some of it a little but more sea like.

Photoshop and Illustrator was used.

Halloween's Eves Eves Eves

In my 'ends' the place to go is Southend for the night life. As Halloween is just round the corner Monday mayhem made me join in... My attempt of joining in failed when I brought a dress earlier that day. So clearly the think to do was throw some cat ears on and waste my eyeliner drawing on whiskers and a little black nose.

Copout outfit, I know, but can you really buy this dress and not wear it out? I think not.

Fox and the Wolf

I love looking back on old work and being able to use it for my new project.

Back in February I drew out some little characters with little hats on and drew them up on illustrator

I think that my fox and the wolf was one of my best pieces of art I have made and it is so great that I can now use them and adapt them to maybe create something even better.

Pop-eye The Sailor Man

After living by the sea side and your boyfriend nagging you to buy him spinage, it becomes very easy to get inspired...

They are only first draft so they are very rough and un even but you get the jist.

A Strong Winters Beeeze

After this crazy weather we have been having I think it is about time we all dig out our wooly jumpers, snuggle up in our duvets in front of the fire place with a nice cup of hot chocolate and really embrace the cold weather.
